We have now been working with our farm’s “neighbor” Bernardino and Raymundo since 2018. Their village of Santa Cruz, Ozolotepec, is just a stone’s throw from our farm and they grow coffee on communal land, each producer having a small lot that is passed down from generation to generation.
When our family first approached Bernardino and Raymundo, they were skeptical about our intentions. We assured them that we needed more coffee from Oaxaca, and that we wanted to pay a better price and buy as much as they could produce for us. We delivered on our word. Fernando, our founder, periodically visits their village throughout the year en route to our family farm, to commiserate, talk about coffee, and plan future crops. We’re again grateful to have their and their community’s partnership to showcase a wonderful representation of Oaxacan coffee.
